Lazy last day...

Just chillin' today... But then again.  I did get up early to vacuum and clear out the house for the new year!

Then lunch with my friend Marcella at Stacked.  Found my way home chillin' with Parentals and mutt loves for the afternoon with a quick FaceTime with the CIA kids.  Relaxing the end of the year... A sign of less stress for the New Year!

Snow in So Cal

It happens... When hell freezes over or when a cold front moves in from Canada?!  Hahaha so the hilarity of snow in Cali is not that it doesn't happen (just visit the San Berdu mountains), it just doesn't happen so low... It got down to 1000 feet.  So everyone is amazed and thinking end of the world?  I think they call it El NiƱo... A wetter, colder winter has hit... That means better snowboarding conditions!

Have to say though, I love getting the reactions from my colder climate cousins...  The only thing is... they are commenting from the Phillipines...

Rosetta Stoning "Tagalog": Lesson 1 and Core of Lesson 2

Augh, my lips hurt... and my tongue is twisted.  First off, yes I'm Filipino, but my parents come from the southern part of the Philippines where they speak Visaya, not Tagalog.  I mean they know Tagalog, but in our house they were speaking Visaya most of my life.

So I'm on this fun adventure... Now that I've been to the Philippines twice over the past two years, I figure I should learn the language.  Who knows when I'll be going back, but I really should learn this. I have to say, the language has a high usage of vowels... I think you would go bankrupt on Wheel of Fortune "buying vowels".  And they like to use the vowels on every other letter... Sometimes I feel like a beat boxer stuck on repeat!

Oh well, it is an adventure...

Biggest Loser 2015

End of Biggest Loser 2013 (May)
I didn't win, but I lost!
It's BAAAACK!!!! MY FAAAT! and so another January with BIGGEST LOSER 2015!!!!  hahahah I think the stress of my work life got the better of me and that's soooo not cool.  So I'm taking my life back and leaving the stress at work.  They don't own my life and they don't have to carry my fat!

So here's the plan... $100 in.. A new Annavic by May, and then it's the FOLLOW THROUGH!!!

I can do it, I have done it, and so it is!

All I have to do is look at all my darned pictures as motivation of who I can be... And no, I don't need to be skinny or perfect... I want to be agile and playful.  So here are my before and after from before... The problem is my after after is very much looking like my before!

2014 Creative Christmas: Alphabet Aerobics

Inspired by Daniel Radclyffe's rap of Blackalicious' "Alphabet Aerobics"...

Thanks to my cousins and family who tolerate my little projects.  We learned the rap during the party and I had to fill in some gaps.  Age ranged from 10 to 50, youngsters, parents and teens. Gotta love a family who are open to some crazy fun.

2015 New Year's Resolutions

Another year, another set of resolutions?  Ah who's kidding who?  So forget the resolutions!  I need to just get up and get doing...

Now here's a list of a few things I want to do, get back to doing or is just itching to come off my bucket list...  Then again, I don't have a bucket list.  I think I've done everything I have wanted to do or try.  I have gone to places, even though I'm not much of a traveller.  Hmmm.  So slight detour on this approach.  Here's a list of cool things I did this year, just to remind me of what I might want to be doing in 2015.

2014 Retrospective

Winter, not so winter in Southern Cali, but I actually brought mild weather with me to Indy.  Happy New Year with Indy and Aussie cousins.  Trampoline and Nerf War joy!  Hot Chocolate, Resolution Run and hikes.  Spring broke through and off to the races Ragnar relay with the fambam... Visits to Legoland and Disney!

Summer fun in the Phillipines island hopping from Calamba to Boracay to Cebu to Bohol and Manila. A joyous vacation followed by a 50th Uncle Elsie and Auntie Lu anniversary Indy visit while bumping into some Canadian cousins!  Then my friends and family of September babies ended the summer with a DISNEY RESORT BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA!!!

Started the fall with a MKTO, Christina Perri, Demi Lovato concert, a visit to the Golden Gate city for a hilly half marathon, a Captain America filled Halloween and played support crew for my cousins and sister in the Disney Avengers Half.

Winding down the year with the Grinch and an Electric Run, another 50th Anniversary with Uncle Bert and Auntie Pansing, a Murrieta Christmas and a long and winding relay with a Christmas rap at the Labaria's.  Will be ending the year with a Straight No Chasers concert

All and all and in between I was surrounded by my lovable mutts, my crazy whack but loving family, my fun seeking friends and an ever present God who always humbles and blesses me!

Thank you 2014... There were bumps and bruises... but in the end the love and joy won out...

Now to 2015

Looking forward to a less cluttered new year, given that I've organized my place and cleared out some junk.  It has and will continue to be a work in progress.  I plan to also clean up my food intake, as usual.  So what lies in store for 2015?

With the winter, I will be on the mountain... Mammoth is in my 2015 headlights, match that with an early year visit to my favorite place and happiest place on earth... Disneyland.  Looking forward to snowboarding and the general joy of Disney.

However with a new year comes the typical around the belly reflection... It is BIGGEST LOSER TIME!  The cousins are back at it... Same bets, but another 2 years older... Let's do this!!!! Again.. Hopefully it stays off... but we are a family that loves each other and the food that accompanies our socializing :)

As for big trips... None planned for this year, but I'm hoping you'll find me in Indiana with my cousins and some activities that will take me on a different path.

I want to do a triathlon, a spartan race and Wipeout, the 5K.  I want to run with my friends and family again this year, because I was a bit injured.  I'll be playing football in a league and I plan on staying healthy.

So there in lies my one major goal... I want to lose 30 pounds this year and be more consistent with my health.  In terms of consistency, that means eat right, sleep more, worry less and balance the highs and lows.  It is very doable, just gotta DO!

So not any major plans, but the majors are in the minor details.  Little things like finding time to spend with family and friends.  Cherishing the moments with "my kids" and my parentals and sisters!  Loving the cousins near, far, by blood and not necessarily so... but cousins nonetheless..

Well I hope I can live up to who I am... It's kinda cool that I can look back at 2014 and be pretty darned OK with it all.. When I look at my pictures, although fuller in cheeks, I still see all the joy of the daze!
